EHRCEPA Delegates
Participated in World Social Forum 2007 in Nairobi,
Kenya
EHRCEPA higher officials participated the
World Social Forum 2007 in Nariobi, Kenya from
January 19 - 26, 2007.
It was a
great campaign having slogan of " Human Dignity
and Human Rights New strategies for a new
World".
It was held
in different parallel sessions in the thematic
areas of Human Rights and conflict,
Militarization and culture of impunity, Human
Rights and economical and social justice
struggles, Human rights and the struggle for
Gender Equality Human Rights and the straggle
over Habitat, land and environment, Human rights
and Mobility and Citizenship challenges and
Human Rights, Religion and cultural diversity.
EHRCEPA's
delegate's also participated in the consultation
of the Approved joint draft position paper on
rights and forwarded their comments on
it.
Three days capacity building
training for 40 (21Female and 19 Male) staff and
volunteers held from April 23-25, 2007 at CRDA
training centre on:
- Advocacy Campaign
Management and Building relationship with the
government
- Training on Legal
Aid Service and legal Education
- Project Cycle
management
- How to use Women
rights and gender equality and HIV/AIDS Kits in
community based programs
- Community
Conversation
- Performance Audit,
Staff Performance and Monitoring and Evaluation
The training was one of EHRCEPA's
programs inline with its strategic plan and it
will continue on specific topics based on the
gaps and needs of the association.

Foundation. The study is conducted in 3 Woredas
of Amhara region in collaboration with
consultants appointed from the faculty of law,Addis Ababa
University.

EHRCEPA Participated in the
4th FOKO Conference on Female Genital
Cutting held in Finland from September 7 to 8,
2007.

 Two higher officials of Ethiopian Human
Rights and Civic Education Promotion Association
(EHRCEPA) participated in the 4th FOKO
Conference on Female Genital Cutting, which was
held in Finland from September 7 to 8, 2007. A
number of professionals from different Human
Rights Organizations attended the workshop. The
participants underlined that Female Genital
Cutting is a form of human rights violation
without the interest of an individuals and
soeured not to practice this inhuman practice.
EHRCEPA also briefed its mission, vision and
programs for Finish Church Aid, Finish NGO Human
Rights Foundation and Norwegian Church Aid and
agreed to work with them in the
future.

Child Sexual Abuse held in Nairobi, Kenya from
September 24 -26, 2007.
In the conference researches have
been presented and discussion was held. EHRCEPA
also presented its experience on early
marriage.
