The Ethiopian Human Rights and Civic Education Promotion Association (EHRCEPA) is a non-profit, non-governmental and independent civic organization. It was founded in August 1999 in Addis Ababa by fourteen Ethiopian professionals with a shared interest in and understanding, commitment to the promotion and improvement of civic and human rights and democratic values in the country, and has been officiallyregistered and existing since December 1, 2000.

As an independent and indigenous civic organization, EHRCEPA operates with the primary objectives of contributing to the realization and advancement of the rule of law, respect for human rights, democracy, development, peace and stability. EHRCEPA target groups include middle level functionaries engaged in policy implementation, policy influence, supervision and evaluation as well as school leaders, community leaders and opinion makers, and various associations.
